Obituary for Betty Freeman Betty Darst Freeman, 65 passed away in her sleep in the early morning hours of January 11, 2019 at Wesley Woods of Newnan after a long illness. She was born in Terrell, TX on October 7, 1953 to Wallace Augustus Darst and Mary Agnes Duggan. Betty graduated from Terrell High School and went to earn an Associate degree in Business Administration and led a department for United American Insurance Company in McKinney, Texas and retired after 15 years.

Betty loved adventure, she once piloted and landed an airplane, when challenged by some of her friends she participated in a “drag racing” event and beat her opponent. She and a friend carved out a 20 mile track through Dallas, Texas and roller bladed those 20 miles on a daily basis. Betty had a wonderful sense of humor and loved her family and living life!

Betty was preceded in death by her father, Wallace Augustus Darst; mother, Mary Agnes Darst and brother, Jimmy Darst. She is survived by her loving husband, Autry William Freeman; daughter, Beth Martin and husband Dustin of Memphis, TN; daughter, Dee Calliens; daughter, Kelli Whitlock and husband James and son, Matt Freeman all of Newnan. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 14, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home 38 Jackson St. Newnan, GA 30263 with Dr. Phil Pilgrim officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at McKoon Funeral Home.
