Obituary for Betty J. Allen Betty J. Allen, 93, of Orleans, passed away at 2:15 AM on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Paoli Health and Living Community. She was born February 11, 1925 in Bertha, Minnesota, the daughter of Albert and Ethel (Todd) Hollister. She married Robert Kelley on November 23, 1945 and Chester Allen on July 21, 1973 and both preceded her in death.

She was a school teacher in Minnesota for several years. She enjoyed working for over twenty years at Alexian Brothers Hospital in San Jose, CA. After retirement from there, she became a farmer in Orleans, Indiana.

She enjoyed selling her baked goods, flowers and produce at the Orleans Farmer’s Market. She was a member of the Orleans American Legion Post 69 ladies auxiliary and served as a past president. She is survived by her loving children, Victoria (George) Hoefling, Sharon (Jack) McCann, Penny Kelley, Deborah (James) Garcia, Reginald (Barbara) Kelley and Paul Kelley; three step-children, Alfred (Sally) Allen, Robert (Rhonda) Allen and Cindy (James) Wallace; one daughter-in-law, Jeanie Kelley, and one brother, Warren Hollister.

She is also survived by twenty-five grandchildren and fifty-four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husbands, parents; one son, Kent Kelley, one daughter Roberta Kelley, one stepson, Arthur Allen, five siblings; Crandel Hollister, Pete Hollister, Bonnie Wagner, Dorothy Voelk and Patty Madden. The funeral will be at 1:00 PM on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Ochs-Tetrick Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie McLain officiating.
