Obituary for Betty Jean Cramer Betty Jean Cramer, 90, of Anderson, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 10, 2018 at Primrose Memory Care. She was born on December 23, 1927 in Fort Wayne, IN. She grew up in Van Wert, Ohio.

She graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with an elementary education degree. Her first three years, she taught in New Jersey. Later she received her Master’s Degree of Education from the University of Michigan.

She retired as a school teacher from the Detroit School System in 1986. Later in life she volunteered for 3 years in Jenny Morgan’s 2nd grade class at Anderson Elementary School. Reading with children was her love.

She was a very animated reader! She enjoyed square dancing, ballroom dancing, playing piano and the accordion. She also sang in numerous church choir, kept a journal most of her life beginning in grade 5 and was a member of the United Methodist Women.

, Eastern Star, and AAUW. She also volunteered for the Salvation Army and for many years at Community Hospital Anderson. She traveled to various places around the world.

Her last travels were to the Holy Land. . Betty is survived by her husband Frank Cramer; children, Alan (Maureen) Glass, Mark Glass, Carol (Lee) Polhamus, granddaughter, Jessica (Mitchell) Ayers.

Sister, Jeanette (Bernard) Clark, 2 nieces and a nephew; step-children, Arden Cramer, Marshall Cramer, and Julie Boor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Elizabeth (Thomas) Chambers. Visitation will be held at Anderson First United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 1:00-4:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Anderson Elementary School for Jenny Morgan to obtain books for students through the Scholastic Book Club. Children’s books may also be donated during the visitation hours. www.
