Betty Jean Custis, Age 94, of Jamestown, Ohio, passed away Saturday evening, June 16, 2018 at the Pristine Health Care Center in Jamestown, Ohio. She was born December 20, 1923 in Wilmington, Ohio, daughter of the late Arnold George & Edith Louise (Thatcher) Wilson and Edith Louise Thatcher. A graduate of Wilmington High School, Betty had worked for the City of Wilmington Water Department for many years.

She was a member of Chester Friends Meeting, The Bridge Club, and an Auxiliary Member of the Elks Lodge #797, Wilmington. Surviving are her grandchildren- Chad C. (Nikki) Custis of Wilmington, & Kelly R. (Mike) Hieatt of Sabina, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Linda (nee Harbert) Custis of Wilmington; and granddaughter- Carsyn Custis. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband- Thurman J. Custis; and son- Rodney Lee Custis.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at the Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust Street at North Mulberry Street, Wilmington, with Pastor Mike McCormick officiating. Betty’s final resting place will be in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington, at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of services at the funeral home.
