Betty Louise Watkins was born on June 30, 1947 to the late George Jeffery, Sr. and Girstine Toney Jeffery. Betty was the sixth biological child born to this union. She departed this life on Thursday, May 10, 2018.

Betty accepted Christ as a very young age and was filled with the Holy Ghost. She faithfully served as a youth leader in the church as a member and progressed in her dedication and traveled throughout the Districts within Arkansas and the state leading the Youth Congress to greater heights, while always putting God first. Later in life she became a Co-Pastor, and many souls were led to Christ under her ministry.

Betty graduated from Immanuel High School in 1965. She attended Business School in Little Rock and was employed at Timex Corporation for many years. She also worked at GTE and AT&T phone companies, where she retired.

Betty was one of the co-owners of Dew-Baby’s Restaurant. She was instrumental in the publication of the book “Ten Sisters”, which is an inspirational and uplifting autobiography of a family with extraordinary parents who raised 22 children on a farm in Casscoe, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband Jonathan Watkins, her parents, a brother Arthur Holt and five sisters Juanita Owens, Jewel Wofford, Leatha Mae Holt Peoples, Rosie Lee Holt Tolliver, and Earnestine Holt.

Her precious memories will forever be cherished by six brothers: George (Bessie) Jeffery, Jr., Pastor Fredrick (Barbara) Jeffery, Freddie (Doris) Holt, Willie Lee Holt, all of Stuttgart, AR, Larry (Emma) Jeffery of Almyra, AR, and Andre’ (Tammy) Jeffery of Collierville, TN; nine sisters: Mary Ann Wofford, Lillie Jeffery, Deborah (Paul) Brown, Glenda Hall, all of Stuttgart, AR, Demetrice Guydon, Lavarange (Samuel) Hankins of Almyra, AR, Rose Mary (Elliott) Stovall of Arlington, TX, Hattie B. Holt of Detroit, MI, and Pearl St. Clair of Kansas City, KS; two step-daughters: Janice and Sharhea Watkins of Jonesboro, AR; three aunts: Blanchie Jeffery of Stuttgart, AR, Luster B. Allen of Casscoe, AR, and Evelyn Betts of Clarendon, AR; three beloved God-children: Kimberly Ashley of Little Rock, AR, Darryl (Rose) Woodruff of Dallas, TX, and Lynn Edward Tolliver of Stuttgart, AR; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and a multitude of friends.
