Obituary for Mr. Charles T. Holliday Charles T. Holliday Six Mile, SC Private graveside services for Mr. Holliday were held at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Charles T. Holliday, 84, died May 28,2018. Born in Six Mile, he was the son of the late Pearl Elizabeth Smith and James Luther Holliday.

Surviving are his wife , Mildred K. Holliday, the love of his life through their 66 years of marriage. Also, surviving are children Karen Fletcher(Glenn); Phil Holliday (Pam) and Allen Holliday; sisters, Doris Deadwyler (James) of Covington, GA and Sarah Clark of Six Mile; 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Charles served in the Navy Seabees during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Trinidad, where son, Phil, was born.

He was a life-time member of Six Mile Baptist Church where he had served as Deacon, R.A. Leader, Training Union Director and served as needed in the music ministry – singing in the choir or leading adult and/or youth choirs. He was an automotive mechanic for over 65 years and could fix anything brought to him – or invent a way to get it to work. Friends gathered often at his shop and sat around the pot-bellied stove swapping stories as he worked.

He often joined in with his own stories and jokes. He was a friend to all who knew him – known for his generosity, his memories of the past and his contagious laugh. He loved gardening and canning, fishing, and spending time with family.

He was a loving, giving man who will be greatly missed by all. Special thanks to all who cared for him in the last two years of his life, especially the OPEN ARMS HOSPICE GROUP. His nurse, Alana, was a great help and a comfort to him and his family.

Donations in his memory may be made to Open Arms Hospice or to V.I.M.M. {Volunteers in Medical Missions}. The family will be at the home.
