Obituary for “Betty” Rebecca Elizabeth Horst “Betty” Rebecca Elizabeth Horst, 98, of Lebanon, died Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Manor Care. Born in Lancaster on January 12, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Margie (Royer) Horst. Betty worked as a shirt maker at the Ship and Shore Shirt Factory in Brownstown.

She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Brownstown where she would volunteer her time, often helping in the kitchen. Betty also volunteered her time with the Brownstown Fire Company, helping with soup and candy sales. Surviving is a niece Christine E. “Chris” Horst of Newmanstown.

Betty was preceded in death by her brothers Johnny Horst and Woodrow R. “Woody” Horst, sister-in-law Mary Helen Horst and nephew Ronald K. Horst. Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 10AM at Emmanuel United Methodist Church Cemetery, 11 N. Church Street, Brownstown, PA 17508. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Betty’s memory to Heartland Hospice, 2201 Ridgewood Road Suite 180, Wyomissing, PA 19610.
