Betty Sue Carson Stanley , December 24, 1927 — October 04, 2018

Betty Sue Carson Stanley, age 90 passed away Thursday, October 4, 2018 after a long battle with dementia/ Alzheimer’s disease. She was born in Crumpler, West Virginia on December 24, 1927. She was a devout Christian, who read and studied her bible daily.

Both Betty and husband, Dewey, were lifelong members of Mouzon United Methodist Church, Charlotte, NC. She was very active in the church which included traveling on mission trips outside the country to organize fund-raisers for various charities. She was a lady that was kind and generous to everyone.

There were many wonderful memories made at the “Stanley Family Cabin” in the mountains of North Carolina that will never be forgotten. Betty was loved and cherished by her family and will be greatly missed. It is comforting to know that she is with our Lord!

Mrs. Stanley was preceded in death by husband Dewey, son Ronald Clark Stanley of Signal Mt, TN and parents Walter J & Beulah Osborne Carson, as well as three brothers Walter (Sonny) Carson of Concord, NC, Robert Bruce Carson, of Crumpler, NC and Donald Gordon Carson of Boone, NC. She is survived by her daughter Carrie Stanley Mosteller of Pleasant Garden, NC; son James Walter Stanley of Chattanooga, TN; brother Douglas Roger Carson of Boone, NC; sister Roberta (Bobby) Lusk of Budd, WV, along with six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in the mountains of North Carolina at the Jefferson Cemetery on Saturday, October 13th at 2:00 pm.
