Betty M. Webster departed this life to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on May 4, 2019, at Middletown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born to Russell L. Webster and Nellie H. Gaus Webster on June 5, 1924, and lived in Anderson, Indiana, her entire life. No immediate family members survive Miss Webster, but several cousins and her wealth of friends were blessed to enjoy close relationships with this special lady.

Betty’s signature smile, her thoughtfulness towards others, and her love of cats and music will be remembered by those who cherished her friendship. Betty graduated from Anderson High School in 1942 and later from the Secretarial Course of Anderson Business College, earning the credential Certified Professional Secretary. She took additional courses in business from Ball State University and Anderson University.

She worked in the office of several different companies and was employed as Office Manager at Anderson Tool and Engineering Company for 38 years. After her retirement, she sometimes worked as a sample lady at PayLess. She was active in several clubs and professional organizations, including her 80-year participation with the Love One Another (LOA) ladies’ group.

During her retirement years, Betty organized volunteers at RSVP, Community Hospital Gift Shop, St. John’s Hospice, and other local community groups. She was a charter member of Tabor Baptist Church (now Tabor Church) in southern Delaware County, where she served faithfully and was loved dearly. She taught Sunday School for 35 years and served as church treasurer for many years.

In her retirement she did volunteer work for RSVP (a service of United Way, Madison County), the Community Hospital Gift Shop, St. John’s Hospice, and at the Tax Office at First Methodist Church in Anderson Betty Webster was a paragon of selflessness, gratitude, responsibility, and generosity. Her deepest desire was that her life and all her res would be used fully to the glory of God and the blessing of others. Her example will continue to influence others for decades to come.

A memorial service will be held at Robert Loose Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 1:00pm with Pastor Jim Sandberg presiding. Visitation will be from begin at 11:00am -1:00pm. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery.
