Obituary for Billie Lou Gilbert Wiser Billie Lou Gilbert Wiser 1929-2019 The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Steven Salisbury who gave her great care for many years. She has had wonderful care for the past 9 months in her home thanks to Marci and Lacie at CNS Hospice, and her loving granddaughter, Cami Lewis. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Funeral home.

Bishop Paul Thacker will conduct the funeral at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday January 15 at the Lewiston 2nd Ward chapel (10 South 1600 West). A viewing will be at 10:00 am, prior to the service. Burial will be at the Lewiston City Cemetery Lewiston UT- Billie Lou passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 8th in Lewiston Utah at the age of 89 in her home surrounded by her family.

She was born at her childhood home in Fairview Idaho on January 14, 1929 to William Daniel Gilbert and Jeanette Lillian Fletcher. She was the oldest of 4 children and she had 5 half siblings. She went to Preston High School where she was the Student-Body Secretary.

After graduation she attended Utah State University. Billie married Lawrence Clare Wiser on Dec. 9,1949 in the Logan temple.

Together they raised there 5 children in Lewiston, Utah. They just celebrated 70 wonderful years together. They worked together in the Logan temple for many years.

They also enjoyed many wonderful trips with the Dairy Commission and Beef Council. Billie worked at DelMonte, Amalgamated Sugar Factory, and at Lewiston State Bank where she enjoyed working for 25 years. She loved working with her children and raising them on the family dairy farm.

She loved music and could harmonize to any song. In her later years, you would often find her playing solitaire on her Kindle. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

She served in many capacities, with her favorite being the Junior Sunday School Coordinator. Billie Lou was preceded in death by her parents. Brothers: Ralph Gilbert, DeMar Gilbert, Keith Moore and Clair Moore, and also a great grandson B.J. Larsen.

She is survived by her husband and children: Marilee (Kelly) Spackman of Fairview ID, LuAnn (Todd) Jensen of Providence UT, Larry (Patti) Wiser of Lewiston UT, Danny (Cyndi) Wiser of Nibley UT, and Nannette (Cleve) Buttars of Brooklyn NY. She had 20 grandchildren. She was proud of the fact that there were 10 boys and 10 girls and not an ugly one in the bunch.

Also 48 great grandchildren with 3 more expected this summer, plus 2 great great grandchildren and a sister, Betty Jane Gambles and brother, Rodney Gilbert. Sisters-in-law, Lois Ballard and Ramona Wiser. .
