Obituary of Billie Minton Mrs. Billie J. Minton age 84 of New Tazewell was born January 7, 1934 and passed away on October 23, 2018 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was a very kind and generous person. She had a very active ministry within the local nursing homes.
She visited with the patients in their rooms and played Christian music. She was a very active and faithful member of New Tazewell First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, worked in Vacation Bible School and was on the kitchen committee. She was preceded in death by her: Mother: Ruby Harmon Corbett Husband: Hobert Minton Daughter: Monica Minton Grandparents: L.K. Harmon and wife Mollie Sister: Elizabeth Cook She is survived by her: Daughters: Marian “Libbie” and husband Sam McCollough of Tazewell Marcia Minton of New Tazewell Granddaughter: Marianne (McCollough) Fultz and husband Steve Great-Granddaughter: Madelynn Fultz And a host of aunts and one uncle And a host of many other loving friends and relatives.
The Family will receive friends Friday, October 26, 2018 from 1 PM till 3 PM with funeral services to follow at 3 PM in the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Overholt officiating. Music will be provided by the First Baptist Church Lady’s Ensemble.
Burial will take place in the Fairview Cemetery.
