Mr. Billy R. McQueen, age 72, of Butler, TN passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2019 in Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Butler, he was the son of the late Bessie McQueen. He retired from Summers-Taylor in Elizabethton.

Mr. McQueen was a member of Little Milligan Baptist Church where he drove the Church bus for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Michael Holtsclaw and a brother, Dean McQueen.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of almost forty-six years, Phyllis Griffey McQueen, of Elizabethton, TN; five children, Billy Clemmons, Johnson City, TN; Ronnie McQueen, Donna Holtsclaw, Rebecca Montgomery and Olivia Campbell, all of Butler, TN; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a sister, Jolene Estep, Elizabethton, TN and a brother, Zandel McQueen, Butler, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside service to honor the life of Mr. Billy R. McQueen will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 24, 2019 in the Campbell Cemetery, Whaleytown.

Active pallbearers will be David Griffey, Jimmy Griffey, Bill Griffey, Rick Montgomery, Burl Campbell and Otis Griffey. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 1:50 P.M. on Sunday. Friends may come by Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services to pay their respect and sign the register book between 8:00 A.M. and 4:30 P.M. on Saturday, March 23, 2019.
