Obituary for Billy Dowd Thomas William Dowd IV, affectionately known as “Billy”, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Billy was born on June 3, 1981 in Gravette, Arkansas to Thomas and Glenda (Hurt) Dowd. Billy was a generous soul.

He would go out of his way to help people, even to a fault, sometimes. Billy studied agriculture which gave him a love for gardening and cultivating. He would take flowers or plants that others would discard and help bring life back to them before giving them away.

He was able to see the value in something that others had give up on. Billy loved his Tamaskan dog Achilles. Even when Billy was sick he would ask that his family check on Achilles.

There were times when Achilles would wake Billy up when his blood sugar was low and saved his life. Billy was grateful for his friendships. Many of his lifelong friends surrounded him through his sickness which would help ease his pain.

He appreciated Aaron Wise, a friend that sticks closer than a brother, for helping him through his season of sickness. Billy is preceded in death by his grandparents, Glen and Sue Hurt of Oklahoma, and Merrill and Edwina Dowd of Massachusetts. Left to cherish Billy’s memory are his parents, Thomas and Glenda Dowd of Siloam Springs; a sister, Stacey Dowd Leatherwood; a brother, Rich Dakota; uncles, Gerald Hurt of Oklahoma, Derald Hurt and wife Linda of Oklahoma, Robert Bourrell (Bobby) of Massachusetts, and Max Thomas and wife Vickie of Oklahoma; many nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends.

Billy will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Siloam Springs. The service time is pending.
