Nelson, 87, of Bessemer, AL passed away February 11, 2019. Bobby was an avid Alabama fan. He was a loving husband, devoted father and proud Poppa.

He was a longtime member of Grace Life Baptist Church. Bobby retired from Woodward Iron Company with over 20 years of service and Conner’s Steel with over 10 years of service. He was a former Mason of Brighton #247.

Bobby was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Lena “Bit” Nelson. He is survived by his daughters, Becky Jackson and Renea (Chuck) Lane; grandchildren, Tammy (Steve) Smith, Chris (Mistie) Mauldin, Gina (Bart) Myers and Josh Lane; great grandchildren, Haley Partain, Stephanie Mauldin, Logan Mauldin, Connor Partain, Tristan Louden, Makala Myers and Ethan Smith; great great grandson, Peyton Apple. Funeral service will be Friday, February 15, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Bessemer Brown Service Funeral Home with burial following at Highland Memorial Gardens.

Bro. Joel Frederick will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
