Bonnie F. (Armes) Dewey, of Seaford, DE passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018. Bonnie was born in West Graham, Bluefield, VA to Andy and Sussie (Young) Armes. She married the love of her life Harlan (Glenn) Dewey on September 14, 1956.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother & sister. She not only loved her own family, but “adopted” many of her friend’s children as her own. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband Harlan, her parents, and sisters Sarah Franks and Linda Ellis Bonnie is survived by her two sons, Kevin B. Dewey (Kim) of Seaford DE, Willis G. Dewey (Clara) of Bridgeville, DE, her sister and best friend, Mary Parsons of Greenwood, DE, brother Andrew Armes (Roseanne) of Millsboro, DE, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, and great friend Margie Clayton of Sharptown, MD. Bonnie adored her grandchildren & great-grandchildren & considered her nieces & nephews & many of their friends as her own. She cherished everything about them & could not do enough to see that they were happy & successful in life.

Many knew Bonnie as a waitress from her many years of service at various local restaurants including Dillard’s, The Seaford Inn, Canton Inn, and The Flag Ship. Bonnie didn’t know a stranger and will be remembered as one of the sweetest ladies on earth. She always took the time to listen to anyone with a need and would try to help in any way she could.

She will be missed by everyone that had the privilege of knowing her – whether in a small way or a life-time relationship. She was a loving individual who brought joy to all those she knew. Her smile could truly light up a room.

A new star is shining on all of us from above. Though Bonnie’s passing was unexpected, her family & friends were able to surround her with love during the last days of her life. The family would like to thank the staff at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital who cared for her with great tenderness and compassion.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 1 PM with a visitation from 12 to 1 at the Cranston’s Funeral Home 300 N. Shipley St, Seaford, DE. A private service for burial will be held later.
