Obituary for Bonnie Ruth Gherard Bonnie Ruth Gherard, 66, passed away peacefully January 9, 2019 at her home. The daughter of the late Peter and Ruth (Tosca) Gherard, was born April 18, 1952. Bonnie grew up in the South End of Hartford, graduated from Bulkeley High School in 1970 and earned her BSN in Social Work from CCSU.
She leaves behind her son Richard Ramenda of Newington and his fiancé Valerie Anderson, her daughter Ashley Jupe and her husband David of Cromwell, her grandchildren, Addyson and Liam, sisters, Marylou Lewis and Kellybeth Klein of Virginia and her best friend, Jean Richards of Rocky Hill. She was predeceased by her brother Joseph Gherard. Bonnie was a loving and devoted mother and Nonni.
She loved spending her summers at Point O’Woods Beach with her grandchildren and family. Her passion for gardening blossomed throughout her yard. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Bonnie’s life will be held on Monday, January 14, 2019 at 10am in the Church of Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield.
Burial will follow in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, 1 Cottage Grove Rd. , Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society by visiting main.
