Obituary for Brenda Edwards Jewell Brenda Edwards Jewell, 67, of Ridgeway, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at home. She was born in North Carolina on June 15, 1951, to the late Lewey Matherly and Frances Edwards Wolf. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Susie Nightingale and brother, Tommy Lee Matherly.

Brenda was a member of Kingdom Point Church; she had been employed at Bassett Walker Knitting Mill in the Prep & Pack Department. She worked at the food bank at her church and enjoyed working crossword puzzles. She is survived by her husband, Silas Jewell; daughter, Linda Sanchez; son, Silas Jewell; sisters, Sandra Prillaman, Shelia Weatherman, Cathy Martinez and Ginger Smart; brother, Jeffrey Matherly; grandchildren, Alicia Garcia, William Cassell, Jr., James Anthony Barnett, and Christopher Jewell; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 17, 2018, from 4:00 to 5:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. The funeral will be at 2:00 PM, on Sunday, November 18, at the Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Mountain View Cemetery, 711 Church Street, Ridgeway, Virginia.
