Obituary for Phyllis JoAnn Waybright Whipkey Phyllis Waybright Whipkey, 75, of Martinsville, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at her home. She was born in Ohio on June 17, 1943, to the late Arthur James Waybright, Sr. and Mildred Josephine Joy. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard “Buck” Whipkey.

She was of the Baptist faith, and had been a foster grandparent in the Wood County School System in Parkersburg, West Virginia. She loved flower gardening, quilting, and sewing; she also loved dogs. Mrs. Whipkey is survived by her daughters, Patricia JoAnn Pulliam, Alice Irene Furner and Jennifer Ann Tyrrell; sons, Webster Bruce Tyrrell, II, David Sean Tyrrell, Timothy Michael Tyrrell, and James Edward Tyrrell; sisters, Elizabeth Ann Bailey and Ruth Elaine Hamrick; brother, Arthur James Waybright, Jr.; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Parkersburg, West Virginia, at a later date. Burial will be private. Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
