Obituary for Linda Buffkin Porter Linda Caroline Buffkin Mountcasel Porter, 73, of Martinsville, VA, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at her home. She was born on January 26, 1945, in Mullins, SC, to the late Chester and Caroline Burgess Buffkin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Berkley Mountcasel and Charles Porter.

She was a 1963 graduate of Martinsville High School , was a Brownie Troop leader and on the PTA Fund Raiser Committee at Spencer Penn School; she was also secretary of the PTA at Samuel H. Hairston School. Mrs. Porter is survived by her daughters, Donna (Giles) Mountcasel and Beth Branch; sisters, Maxine Steele (Cliff),of Sandy Ridge, NC, Patricia Tucker (Wes) of Keystone Heights, FL, Ruby Stewart (Wayne), of Stoneville, NC, Alice Campbell of Martinsville, VA, Janet Doyle(Jerry Lee) of Snow Creek, VA, Karen Harrison of Martinsville, VA, Yvonne McPherson of Martinsville, VA, and Darlene Lambert of Orlando FL,; brother, Chester “Bud” Buffkin (Laura) of Martinsville, VA; and four grandchildren, Brandon Knoell, Michael Jenkins, Charles Jenkins and Caitlyn Willard. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel.

Burial will follow at Mountcasel-Wright Family Cemetery, Plantation Road, Axton, VA. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 3907, Martinsville, VA 24115.
