Brenda’s Obituary Brenda Joyce York Roberson, daughter of the late Robert and Birdie D. York was born April 10, 1951 in Shreveport, Louisiana. At an early age, she confessed her faith in Jesus Christ under the leadership of the late Rev. John B. Simmons at St. Rest Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA.

She attended and graduated from Union High School in Shreveport, LA May 1969 where she participated in several organizations. On October 20, 1972, Brenda was united in holy matrimony to Graley Roberson. This union was blessed with one daughter and three sons.

In the early 1980’s, Brenda became a member of the Greenwood Acres Full Gospel Church under the leadership of Pastor Fred A. Caldwell, Sr. Brenda was employed at Caddo Parish Juvenile Detention, Shreveport, LA on May 25, 2003 as a Juvenile Security Counselor II. Brenda served faithfully for 15 years and retired on June 23rd 2017. She then relocated to Dallas, TX.

where she resided with her daughter. On February 5, 2019, after a brief illness, Brenda was called home to be with the Lord. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her husband, Graley Roberson; daughter, Kelsie Roberson; three sons: Keary Roberson, Kelvin Roberson, and Kevin Roberson, (Ebony); step-son LeTroy Taylor; brother, Rudy W. York (Angela); three sisters: Pamela LaFleur, Robin Middleton, Kathy Stokes (James); sister-in-law: Peggy Dias and Elaine Douglas; her favorite aunt, Charmos J. Fredrick; 6 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Brenda will be remembered always for her love for her family, her smile, joyful personality, giving nature and her contagious laughter.
