Bro. Johnnie Howard Slagle was born November 22nd, 1939 in the Rogers Grove Community of Wayne County to the late Clay and Lucy Neely Slagle and passed away Saturday, May 12th, 2018 at the Wayne County Hospital reaching the age of seventy-eight years. Bro.

Howard united in marriage to Maxine Coffey Slagle on May 3, 1957, who passed away November 19th, 2000. He united in marriage to Clorie Hardwick Slagle on February 14, 2002, who survives. He is also survived by his children; Debbie (James)… Read More » Stringer, Glenda (Harold) Morrow, Teresa McCutchen, Phyllis (Howard, Jr.) Turpin and Ricky (Lori) Slagle, his brothers; Eugene and Clifford Slagle, his seven grandchildren; Shannon Shelton, Janice Davis, Heather Piercy, Adam McCutchen, Brent Gregory, Alisha Kelsey and Cori Anderson along with his thirteen great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by sister; Alene Davenport and his great-grandchild; Bret Shelton. Bro. Howard had accepted his Lord and Savior as a child at Rogers Grove Baptist Church and served his Lord as Pastor for over 50 years and had the honor of Baptizing his children and grandchildren.

He was a member of the Meadow Creek Baptist Church at the time of his passing. He was a dedicated employee and worked for Wright Machine and Shiloh Equipment for many years until his retirement.
