Bruce’s Obituary Bruce K. Fyfe, 54, passed away Thursday morning, January 24, 2019, as the result of injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident near Fort Lupton, CO. He was born July 12, 1964, in Gatesville, TX, to James & Marlyn Fyfe. Bruce has lived in Texas, Illinois, Missouri, Michigan and Colorado.

Bruce married his high school sweetheart Wendy Sue Kennedy on September 20, 1986, in Grand Rapids, MI. In 2000 the Fyfe family moved to Brush from Longmont, CO. Bruce worked as a mechanic and later served as the transportation director for the Brush School District RE-2J.

He dreamed of being a truck driver since being 12 years old, and after leaving the district his dream materialized thanks to two local farmers. Bruce was a board member for the Brush Area Museum and Cultural Center, where he served as History Camp Director and organized the DLD Ramblers musical group. He was a songwriter and played several instruments.

He was an avid reader and shared his enthusiasm with students at Thomson School by reading to them and with them during his lunch break. He enjoyed spending many hours teaching young people how to play guitar and other instruments, drive antique tractors, blacksmithing, braising welding and working with wood. He also enjoyed working in the garden and letting the kids plant seeds and pull weeds.

He had a great passion both for steam tractors and reaching out to lend a hand and help to anyone who would accept it. Survivors include his wife, Wendy; two sons, Nolan and Randall; his parents, James & Marlyn Fyfe; his brother, Craig Fyfe (Kristin) and two sisters, Debbie Chatel (Jack) and Cherry Christensen (Troy). He will also be missed by several “adopted” grandchildren and a very special “adopted” daughter.

The family will be holding memorial services at a later date. The Heer Mortuary is entrusted with cremation arrangements. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Bruce Fyfe Memorial Fund at The Farmers State Bank of Brush.
