Obituary for Buddy Mers Buddy Mers, 70, retired owner of Mers Electric, husband of Shiela Bishop Mers, died Monday, April 16, 2018 at Saint Joseph Mount Sterling Hospital. He was born March 31, 1948 in Bourbon County, son of the late Albert Ray and Glendora Wilkinson Mers, a member of Spears Mill Baptist Church, and formerly served as Mayor of North Middletown and Fire Chief of the North Middletown Volunteer Fire Department. In addition to his wife, Buddy is survived by a daughter, Glenda Mers Stanfield; three grandchildren, Mercedes Waye Stanfield, Madison Layne Stanfield, Montana Blaze Stanfield; a sister, Brenda Crawford; and two brothers, Arthur “Tuck” (Mary Sue) Mers and Michael (Loretta) Mers.

A brother-in-law, John Crawford, preceded him in death. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home. There is no service scheduled.
