Cameron Sage Martinez, age 25, of Roosevelt, passed away May 19, 2018, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born September 23, 1992, in Roosevelt, to Edward and Wanda Mae Chapoose Martinez. After their deaths, he was raised by Serenus & Rena Kanip and Darlena King.

He met LonTeeOn LaRose in 2012, and they have been together ever since. Cameron was a hard worker and worked as a roustabout for K B’s Oil Field Services. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh, teasing, and pulling pranks.

He was into “old school” cars, hunting, camping, fishing, Sundancing, Bear Dancing, traveling, and cooking. He was a talented artist and was creative making numerous different things. He was a member of the Native American Church, took part in sweats, and was a singer with Red Spirit Drum Group and Junior Spirit Drum Group.

He had a way of making everyone feel special, would help anyone and everyone, and loved his family very much – they were his world! Cameron is survived by his companion, LonTeeOn, of Roosevelt; children, Magic Kurip, Roosevelt; Ouraya Martinez, Salt Lake City; Crimson Cesspooch, Zaiden Cesspooch, Mondo Martinez, AlliRose Martinez, all of Roosevelt; foster-parents, Serenus & Rena Kanip; Darlena King; brothers and sisters, Urlene Blanche Tahanie, Nicholas Tahanie; Urshell “Sunny” Tahanie, Spring Dae Accawanna,, Kay-Cee Martinez, Francis Martinez, Jacinta Martinez, Iokie Perez, Kateari Cesspooch, Joseph, Kyri, & Neesah Kanip; Thomas Myore, Arrow Wissiup, Toni Myore, Raylynn LaRose, Alize Cesspooch, aunts and uncles, Geneva Accawanna, Tracy Chapoose, Sharon Martinez, Ramos Cesspooch, Alfred Cesspooch, Michael Martinez, Jimmy Herrera, Brett “West” Chapoose, Matthew Murdock, Kevin Myore, and family, Reffel, Meredith, and AJ Kanip; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Naomi Martinez; a brother, Ernie Martinez, Jr.; grandparents, Renae Myore Marquez, Blanche Myore, William Myore, Thomas Chapoose, Florentino Uliberry, Clifford Duncan, Gloria MountainLion, Ernie Martinez; aunt, Pamela Chapoose; uncles, Aloin Myore, Manuel Myore, Woodrow Myore, mother-in-law, Cindy LaRose; and brother-in-law, Ricardo Perez.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., at the Ft. Duchesne Gym where a wake will be held after 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Per his wishes, he will be cremated and then buried one day in the Ft.

Duchesne Cemetery.
