Obituary for Carl Crowder Carl C. Crowder, 72 of Lewistown, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Born December 31, 1945 in Atlanta, GA he was the son of the late C. Frank and Sara (Lewis) Crowder. Carl will be remembered and sadly missed by his wife of more than 53 years, Mary (Markley) Crowder; his son, Randy Crowder and his wife Tricia and his daughter, Carla Warner.

He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Ellery Russler and spouse Trent; Nathaniel Dillon and spouse Brittany and Katie Pannebaker and spouse Kyle; as well as three great grandsons, Jase Atherton, Colt Atherton and Luke Russler. Carl is also survived by his siblings, Creed Crowder and wife Denise and Charlotte Durham and husband Marhshall of Tennessee. Carl retired from U.P.S. as a supervisor and driver trainer.

He was also previously employed at Standard Steel, Martin Oil Company, Rhodes Oil Company and the American Viscose Corporation. Carl faithfully attended Trinity United Methodist Church as a sound system operator, where he was known to always have a “stash” of sweet treats and candy to share with anyone who desired one. He was a member of the Lewistown Moose Lodge #143 and FAME EMS.

His passion was detailing automobiles and showing his “hot rod” Chevy Truck at local car shows with his cronies. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the Barr Funeral Home and Crematory, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown with Pastor Chris Lutz officiating. There will be a time of visitation with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Carl’s memory can be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 428 S. Main Street, Lewistown, PA 17044. The family wishes to thank the caring staff at William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. During his brief stay, he was well cared for with much demonstrated patience.
