Obituary for Carl H. Wooster CAMDEN – Carl H. Wooster, 84, died peacefully, Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Togus VA Hospice. Born in Rockland, May 17, 1934, he was the son of Carl A. and Alberta Larabee Wooster. He was educated in local schools until his high school education was interrupted by service in the US Army.

Serving during the Korean War, Carl was stationed in Hanau, Germany. At the time of his discharge in 1956 he had attained the rank of Sergeant. Prior to entering the military, Carl worked for three years at Boothbay Freezer Company.

Returning from the military, he earned his GED at Thomaston High School. Later Carl married Cynthia Brewster in Rockland. Mrs. Wooster passed away in 1998.

Carl began his career with Continental Wire Company in Wallingford, CT as Production Foreman. During that same time he worked at Custom Cord and Cable Company in Hartford for 18 years. In 1971 Carl returned to Maine where he was employed with Crowe Rope in Warren for two years.

In 1973, he began with Fisher Engineering and worked for more than 25 years as Quality Control Foreman, retiring in 1998. When he wasn’t busy working, Carl enjoyed horse racing, both at local fairs as well as off track. He was an avid pool enthusiast and at one time managed Sonnies Roost Pool Hall in Rockland.

Carl resided at the Methodist Conference Home until 2011 and most recently has resided at Merry Gardens in Camden. Predeceased by his wife; a daughter Cindy M. Wooster in 1989; two sisters, Donna Wooster and Hazel Wiley; and a brother George Wooster; Carl is survived by his daughter Linda Farnham and her husband Ronald of Boothbay Harbor; a granddaughter Cindy L. Casey and her husband Adam of Boothbay Harbor; his sisters, Flora Hill of Connecticut, Mary L. Wooster of St. Petersburg, FL, Helen Garneau of Windsor, Cynthia Hall and her husband Douglas of Rockland, Lisa Robinson of Lake Tahoe, CA; and his brothers, Walter Wooster and his wife Diane, John Wooster, and Ronald Wooster all of Rockland. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Achorn Cemetery, Old County Road, Rockland.
