Obituary for Betty P. Heal ROCKLAND – Betty P. Heal, 81, died at her home, Tuesday, July 2, 2018, after a period of declining health. Born in Rockland, November 12, 1936, she was the daughter of Percy L. and Lucy Harrington Porter. Educated in local schools, Betty was a 1955 graduate of Rockland High School.

July 2, 1955, Betty married John J. Heal in Rockland. The couple made their home in Rockland, where they raised their family and lived all their married lives, until John’s death in 1998. More than anything, Betty’s family was priority No.

1 in her life. She particularly enjoyed spending time at the family camp in Liberty, boating, waterskiing, fishing, snowmobiling and going to snowmobile races. After raising her family, Betty worked 17 years as Administrator / Administrative Assistant with the Rockland Chamber of Commerce.

Other than her parents and beloved husband, Betty was pre-deceased by one grandson, Shawn Heal in 2011. She is survived by her children, Alan and Pamela Heal of Rockland, John and Pamela Heal of Warren, Dana and Charlene Heal of Waldoboro, Steven and Renee Heal of West Rockport, Brian and Lisa Heal and Caryn Heal all of Rockland; ten grandchildren, Debbie and Gary Gould, Jason and Jodie Heal, Ivy Heal, Jennifer and Jesse Wilgus, Maci Heal, Dawn Heal, Jessica and Jeremy York, Travis and Kayla Heal, Kayla and Brian McGinley and Raquel Traniello, eleven great-grandchildren, Pammie, Liam, Connor, Madison, Colton, Madison, Bryce, Grayson, Owen, Austin, Brady and Emma; her siblings, Carol and Steven Tolman of Rockland, Gary and Linda Porter of South Portland, Brad and Ellen Porter of Warren, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, July 16, 2018, at Rockville Cemetery, Rt.
