Carl Lee Boyd, 71, of Calcutta, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, following a brief illness. Born, February 12, 1947 in East Liverpool, he was a son of Laura Mills Boyd of Salineville and the late Jesse M. Boyd. Carl was a 1966 graduate of East Liverpool High School.

He worked for General Motors in Lordstown before enlisting in the United States Army. Carl was a Sgt. during the Vietnam War.

He formerly worked for Crucible Steel and Elgers Corporation, until both companies closed. Carl was an outdoorsman and his greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife Judy Miller Boyd; son, Karl Boyd and his companion Stacey of East Liverpool; daughter, Sonya Davis of Wellsville; brother, Jerry Boyd of East Liverpool; sisters, Patty Scarlott and her companion Fred of Wellsville, Diana Earl of East Liverpool, Tila Miller of Salineville and Darlene Boyd of Jensen Beach, FL.

; grandchildren, Brittney and Braden Davis; 16 nieces and nephews, 18 great nieces and nephews and 4 great-great nieces and nephews. A celebration of Carl’s life will be held on Saturday, June 2, from 1:00 PM- 5:00 PM, at the Newell Fire Department. The Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester assisted with making these arrangements.
