East Liverpool, OH. Elizabeth L. “Betty” Roberts, 71 of East Liverpool passed away at the East Liverpool City Hospital on Friday, June 8, 2018, following a brief illness. A daughter of the late Norman Clyde and Sarah Latica Brown McLaughlin, Betty was born in Salem on November 15, 1946.

Raised in the Nazarene Church, she last worked at the New Dimension Lounge in East Liverpool. Betty held memberships in the East Liverpool Moose Lodge, American Legion, and VFW. She was preceded in death by her son, Scott Lotze; granddaughter, Sarah Rose Buzzard; two great-grandchildren, Cadyen Smith and Faith Buzzard; and her brother, Norman Robert McLaughlin.

Left to cherish her memory is her children, Patricia Congo and husband Mark of Calcutta, Tammy White and husband, Dennis of Canton, Kathy Buzzard of East Liverpool, and Paula Criss of Leetonia; her son with whom she resided, Glenn Buzzard, and her dear friend, Maria Douglass. Betty will be deeply missed by her sister, Joyce Markowski of Livonia, MI; and her brother, John McLaughlin and wife Linda of New Martinsville, WV. In addition, she is survived by eleven grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at the East Liverpool Moose on Sunday, July 1, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. Private interment will take place at Oakdale Cemetery in Leetonia. Betty’s services are in the care of the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester.
