Carl Thomas Faires, 79, passed peacefully in his Florida home on Saturday June 23, 2018. Carl was born & raised in Killen, Alabama. He graduated from Mars Hill Bible School and attended UNA.

He began his career as a pool designer and later a project manager overseeing construction in 7 states. In 1971, Carl relocated to the Central Florida area where he founded Commercial Pools Inc., focusing on Municipal. Resort & Multifamily pool facilities, the pools and waterfalls at the Polynesian Resort at Disney were among his many projects.

His expertise led to gubernatorial appointments on Industry boards to help set standards & rewrite Florida Pool Code. He also helped establish UPSA to further the industry, serving on the board & several other offices. Most importantly, Carl was a kind, humble, devout man with a servant’s heart and an extensive knowledge & understanding of God’s word.

He was also an avid fisherman, and often used both skills to teach & guide others. He dearly loved God, his family and the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his wife Pat and parents Roy & Kathyleen Faires.

He is survived by his children Kim (Bill Winningham) and Randy. And 6 precious grandchildren Briannna, Tyler, Abby, Dylan, Kendall & Eric. A memorial service will be held Saturday June 30 at 3pm at Killen Church of Christ.

In lieu of flowers, Carl would have appreciated donations (Tax deductible) be made to his Alma matter Mars Hill Bible School Attn: Memorials 698 Cox Creek Parkway Florence AL 35630.
