Obituary for Carla Ann Strachan Carla Ann (Ponder) Strachan December 25, 1964 – December 21, 2018 Carla Ann (Ponder) Strachan, born December 25, 1964, passed away at Christus St Michaels Hospital in Texarkana TX, December 21, 2018. She was a resident of Hooks TX and 53 years old. Carla is preceded in death by her husband Dale Strachan and father Carl Vester Ponder.

She is survived by her mother Dessie Ponder of Alexandria LA; sons Michael Venable of Hooks TX, Ben Hopkins and fiancé Sandra of Genoa AR, and Vessen Hopkins of Genoa AR; daughters Kala Marie Venable of Hooks TX, Ashley Joann Venable of Texarkana TX, and Savenna Turner and husband Dax of Cotton LA; sisters Tina Marie Langston and fiancé Tom Wilmore of Alexandria LA, and Betty Jo Head-Hogeland of Hooks TX, 15 grandchildren; and best friend Charlie York. Carla was a great mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. She loved listening to her son playing his original songs on his guitar.

She also loved doing arts and crafts with her grandchildren and humming birds. Funeral Services will be under the direction of Queen City Funeral Home. A visitation will begin Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Queen City Funeral Home at 12:00 PM.

Funeral services will immediately follow beginning at 1:00 PM. Carla will be interred at Sandy Hill Cemetery in Simms TX. A digital registry may be found at www.
