Obituary for Maurice McKinney Maurice McKinney 21 Jun 1948 – 20 Dec 2018 Maurice McKinney of Atlanta TX, passed from this life December 20, 2018, at the VA Hospital in Shreveport LA. He was 70 years old. Maurice is preceded in death by his parents AC Rowe and Willie (Duckett) McKinney; brothers Charles and Sammie McKinney; and sisters Aline Martin and Katherine Carter.

He is survived by his wife Janet (Dowden) McKinney; sons Aaron McKinney and wife Candice of Killeen TX, and Bryan Dowden and wife Chasinique of Queen City TX; daughters Pamela Steward and husband Steven of Balch Springs TX, and Tracie McKinney and husband Jay of Lancaster TX; brothers Harold McKinney of Atlanta TX, Will McKinney and wife Bobbie of Texarkana TX, Lonnie McKinney, Billy Rowe, and Johnny McKinney of CA; sister Merline Lawson of Atlanta TX; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a devoted host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a Great Aunt Mattie Sue in CA. Maurice was a good husband, father, and grandfather. He was a minister for New Beginnings Church of God in Christ.

Funeral services in his honor will be under the direction of Queen City Funeral Home. A visitation will begin at 12:00 PM at Bible Deliverance Church in Queen City TX. A funeral will follow at the same location beginning at 1:00 PM.
