Carol W. Tallman, 74, of Evangel Park Road, Tower City passed away in peaceful sleep at her home at 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 26th. Born in Pottsville, April 11, 1944, a daughter of the late Lee J. and Catherine E. Schwalm Warfield. She is survived by her husband of 46 1/2 years, George E. Tallman; two sisters, Nancy Thompson, Reinerton and Ellen Barkos, Williamstown, a cousin, Clifford Warfield, Allentown; numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Carol was employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for over thirty years as a Librarian at the State Museum of Pennsylvania, formerly the William Penn Memorial Museum. Her whole life, aside from her work, centered around her husband, her family and her church. She was a very active member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Reinerton, where she taught Sunday School and was a major driving force behind the Women of the ELCA and its predecessor, the Lutheran Church Women.

A Celebration of Life Service for Carol will be held, Saturday, May 5th at 11:00 am from her St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 10-11 at the church. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Muir at the convenience of the family.
