Jane Elizabeth Bender, 94, passed away Friday, June 8, 2018 at the Carolina Gardens surrounded by her family. Born in Tower City, September 3, 1923, a daughter of the late Harry and Erma Carl Wise. Jane was a loving mother,nana, great grandmother, aunt and friend to all.

She was an avid reader, loved doing crossword puzzles and watching Judge Judy or any other court room show. Every Friday was spent getting her hair done and shopping was her passion. She was preceded in death by her husband David Bender, a son, Ronald Wise; brothers Harry and Charles Wise; sisters, Gloria Evans and Lois Stakem.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Jane Buras (Gene); three grandchildren Sherri, Amy and Tyler Buras; two great grandchildren, Kailey and Myla Buras. Many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at Saturday, July 14th at 11 am from the church she was raised in, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Tower City with Rev.

Lauren Blatt. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Tower City. A meal and time of fellowship will follow burial in the church social hall.
