John J. Miller, 79, of Tower City, passed away suddenly, Thursday, June 14th. Born in Hegins, September 21, 1938, a son of the late Levi and Frances Long Miller. He was an Army Veteran.

Joe was a retired heavy equipment operator from the Steelworks Union. He was also a retired coal miner. A member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Tower City and the Tower City Loyal Order of Moose #1603.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Strausser Miller, less than two months ago on April 18th. He was also preceded by two sisters, Elizabeth Harner and Violet Kushmakic. Surviving are a step-son, Richard Strausser, Indiana; one brother, Levi Miller, Valley View; four sisters, Netti Morgan, Muir; Betty Troup, Tower City, Lillie Miller, Reading and Shirley Schaeffer, Wernersville; a half brother, Rick; 4 half sisters, Helen, Patty, Kathy and Mary.

Nieces and nephews. Following Joe’s wishes there will be no services. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.
