Died on Saturday, December 08, 2018 at the age of 92 years. The daughter of the late Lillian and Bertram Koonce was born on September 26, 1926 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She attended Oklahoma College for Women, University of Oklahoma and graduated with a bachelor’s degree at Michigan State University.

She later worked in office management for Saginaw Steering Gear, Legal Aid of Eastern Michigan, Catholic Dioceses of Saginaw and retired from Tuffy Muffler. She married John D. “Jack” Parr on August 10, 1946; he predeceased her on May 5, 2014. Together they celebrated 67 years of marriage.

She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church where she was an elder, funeral luncheon coordinator, and participated in many fellowships and groups. Carol also was an administrator for Habitat for Humanity and a founding member of the Michigan Association for Children with Learning Disabilities. She was an avid reader, enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and was famous for her delicious 23 different types of Christmas cookies.

Surviving are her children: Karen Parr, John “Jack” Parr Jr. and his wife, Marge Coleman; five grandchildren: Danae Hunt, Roxanne Parr, Moriah Parr, McKenzie Kohloff-Parr, Kaytee Osier, Andrew Coleman, three great-grandchildren: Claire, Emma, and Silas, her sister, Marguerite Platt and many nieces, nephews, relative and friends. She was predeceased by a son, David Parr, her three sisters: Helen (Ben) Shimberg, Flora (Jimmie) Simmons, Frances (Bud) Marr, sister-in-law: Marion (Fred) Yockey, and her brother-in-law Randy Platt. Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church, 121 Harrison. Rev. Ted McCulloch will officiate.
