Obituary for Carolyn M. McClane Carolyn M. McClane, age 74, of New Market, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018, due to pneumonia. She was a member and secretary of the administrative board of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church. Carolyn graduated from Jefferson High School in 1961 and Carson-Newman College in 1965.

In 1996, she earned a Masters of Education from Tusculum College. After almost 30 years of teaching at the high school level in the Jefferson County School System, she retired in 2006 from Jefferson County High School. Carolyn loved spending time with her grandchildren and antique shopping.

Known for her joy of travel, she visited every Canadian province and U.S. state, except Hawaii. After graduating Jefferson High She was preceded in death by her mother, Adeline Loy; father, George Malone; and step-father, G.W. Loy. She is survived by her husband, Steve McClane; son, Jared (Natasha) McClane; daughters, Stephanie (Keith) Standifur and Michelle Woods; grandchildren, Addison and Reagan James, Haley and Emily Standifur, Ryan Woods, Joshua and Samuel McClane, Jonah and Caroline Downs; brother, Bill Loy; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cedar Grove Methodist Church. Funeral service 7:00 PM Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Fielden Chapel with Rev.

John Slater and Brother Keith Standifur officiating. Interment 11:00 AM Friday in Jefferson Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM prior to the service at Fielden Funeral Home in New Market.
