Carolyn Merritt Doleac died peacefully at the age of 64, on September 15, 2018 in Hattiesburg, MS. Carolyn was the daughter of James Polk and the late Mary Catherine Merritt. Mrs. Doleac was born on January 18, 1954 in Hattiesburg, MS.

She graduated from Hattiesburg High School and went on to attend the University of Southern Mississippi. She married Barry Doleac in 1975. The Doleacs resided in Hattiesburg where Barry worked as a real estate agent and Carolyn was a loving homemaker.

She dedicated… Read More » all of her time to her three children as they grew, attending every sporting and extracurricular event. Mrs. Doleac was a member of Venture Church in Hattiesburg, MS. She was a patient and devoted mother to her children and grandchildren.

She loved imparting all of life’s lessons on her grandchildren and spoiling them every chance she had. Christmas was her favorite time of the year as she enjoyed cooking delicious meals and sharing laughs and stories with all of her loved ones. With an infectious smile and heart of gold, Carolyn always put her family first.

She will be deeply missed by her family and all those that knew her. Mrs. Doleac will be missed by her father, James Polk Merritt of Hattiesburg, MS; husband, Barry Craig Doleac of Hattiesburg, MS; daughter and son-in-law, Alicia and Michael Robbins of New Braunfels, TX; eldest son, Craig Doleac of Hattiesburg, MS; youngest son and daughter-in-law, Brock and Grace Doleac of New Orleans, LA; sisters, Marlene Harris and Brenda Wadsworth and husband, Greg Wadsworth of Hattiesburg, MS; two grandchildren, Holden & Hannah Robbins; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Catherine Merritt.

Mrs. Doleac’s visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 25th at Moore Funeral Home followed by a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. in the Moore Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Southern Pines Animal Shelter.
