Carolyn Crawford, age 74, of Athens, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2019. She was born on October 4, 1944, Sapulpa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Thomas Henry Toliver and Walcie Ann Yocham Toliver. On August 21, 1964, she was married to the love of her life, Virgil Dale Crawford.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James Toliver; and her infant sister, Bernadine Toliver. She was a long-time member of the Athens Holiness Church. Carolyn was a devoted and dedicated minister’s wife, faithfully serving by her husband’s side as pastor of the Athens Holiness Church for over twenty years, as well as the Tallassee Holiness Church in Tallassee, Alabama and the Old Center Church in Central, Arkansas.

She was an accomplished pianist, enjoyed crocheting, and was a perfectionist at everything. Carolyn was the true meaning of a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, whose greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. While our hearts are broken from our loss, we will forever cherish the precious memories we were blessed with by having her in each of our lives.

She is survived by her husband, Bro. Dale Crawford of Athens; her children and their spouses, Sonya and Rob Henegar of Athens, Duane and Tammy Crawford of Umpire and Brett and Andrea Crawford of Morrow; nine grandchildren, Levi Henegar and his fiancé, Jessica Headley, Cody Henegar, Natalie Henegar, Savannah Henegar, Breanna Harkleroad and her husband, Preston, Aubrey Crawford, Lauren Crawford, Jordan Crawford and Austin Crawford; her great-grandson, Samuel Harkleroad; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Ethel Toliver and R. W. “Dick” and Gwen Toliver, all of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; her twin sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Paul Gilbert of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, January 21, 2019, in the Athens Holiness Church.

Visitation will be held Sunday, 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood. Interment will be in the Athens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Levi Henegar, Cody Henegar, Jordan Crawford, Austin Crawford, Preston Harkleroad and Kolton Lockard.
