It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Catherine A. Say, 63, of Kent, formerly of Tiffin, Ohio. Cathy passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, May 17, 2018 with her husband and daughter by her side. She was born on May 30, 1954, in Washington, PA to Benjamin and Carole (Meredith) Gariglio.

On October 5, 1974, she married Nicholas R. Say. Cathy was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter who succumbed after a courageous five and a half year battle with cancer. Cathy leaves behind her husband Nick; daughter Kristin; granddaughter Ella; mother, Carol; and siblings; Benjamin, Cindy, Mark, and Gary.

She was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin. Cathy spent 38 years of her life educating the youth at Seneca East Local Schools as an elementary teacher and reading recovery specialist. She retired in June 2016 and has since spent time with her family and traveling to various destinations.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 12:00-3:30 p.m. on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Hoffmann-Gottfried Mack Funeral Home & Crematory 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Oh 44883, (419) 447-2424. A funeral service in memory of Cathy will be held at the funeral home at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Ron Schock officiating.

Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph’s Church Cemetery. Those who wish, may make a memorial contribution to the Seneca East Public Children’s Library. Condolences may be sent and the guestbook signed at www.
