Catherine D. Scarpa (Nee Pecora), 87, of Jersey City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 11, 2018. Catherine worked for the Hudson County Municipal Court for many years. She was a long time parishioner of St. Nicholas Church in Jersey City, and also a member of the Our Lady of Fatima Society.

Catherine was also a member of the Hudson Catholic Mothers Guild. She was a strong proponent of Catholic Education for her children. She was always willing to help neighbors and friends in need, and was fiercely loyal to her children.

Catherine was predeceased by her husband: Michael L. Scarpa; her brother: George Pecora; and her Grandchild: Baby Catherine. Surviving are her loving children: Roseann Scarpa- Fuccilli; Michael Scarpa and his wife Katherine; Sylvia Scarpa Rosato and her husband Robert; and Louis Scarpa. Also surviving are her beloved Grandchildren: Robert, Alicia, Alfredo, Michael Anthony, Michael Nicola, and Anthony; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Catherine will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2018, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Riotto Funeral Home (for GPS use address: 14 Stagg St., Jersey City). A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 15, 2018, 11:00 AM at St. Nicholas Church, Jersey City. Interment will take place at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.
