Obituary of Cathrine Harden Cathrine Hawthorne Harden, age 86, of Hwy 98, Emerson died June 11, 2018 at Magnolia, AR . Mrs. Harden was born October 11, 1931 in Springhill, LA. She is the daughter of the late O. C. and the late Mamie Lee (Lanford) Hawthorne.

She was married to Leemire Harden until his death parted them, and to their union two daughters were born, one of whom, May Cathrine Robinson, preceded her in death. Catherine lived her life simply and honestly. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who loved the Lord with all her heart and soul.

She loved everyone she met and believed in treating everybody right. If Cathrine told you that she was going to do something you could count on it because her word was her bond. Cathrine was the eldest of six children and as such was often left “in charge” in her parents absence.

Taking care of others was a duty she took seriously, caring for the homes of others as a domestic in order to provide for her own family. In addition to her own two daughter, Catherine also raised her five grandchildren in her own home. She is survived by one daughter: May Lee Harden; two brothers: J. T. Hawthorne of Haynesville, LA, Billy Joe Hawthorne of Kansas City, MO; three sisters: Sybil Mae Thomas of Fontana, CA, Mary Ellis of Magnolia, AR, Mary Elizabeth Hawthorne of TX, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and her beloved pet “Bunny”, all who showed their love for her in such a way as to make them near and dear to her heart.
