Cathy Lynn Carter, age 67 of Grand Haven, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019 at her home. She was born on February 28, 1951 to the late Kenneth Roy and Alice Mae (Hekkema) Hardy in Muskegon, MI. Cathy married James Carter Sr., on May 29, 1976 in Muskegon.

Cathy worked as a CNA for many years, and loved helping others. She loved her family, and was the glue that held them all together. Cathy enjoyed watching Modern Family and NCIS on television, and loved her pets; her dog, Panda and cat, Phoebe.

Cathy will be lovingly remembered and missed by her daughter, Rachel Pelton; son, James Carter Jr.; granddaughter, Alyssa Pelton; one great-granddaughter; sister, Pam (Bob) Button and Sheila Hardy; brother, Kenneth “Mike” Hardy; special close friend, Jannel Gates; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, James. A family gathering for Cathy will be held in May of 2019.
