Cavan William Kilgore March 6, 2001 ~ June 17, 2018 On June 17, 2018 Cavan William Kilgore, our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, passed away after a battle with addiction. On March 6, 2001 Cavan was born in Ogden, Utah to parents, Jeramy and Amanda Kilgore and big sister Kaitla. Cavan was an immediate light to his entire family and provided endless amounts of hijinks, joy, and laughter to everyone in his life.

Cavan possessed a giant heart and was kind to everybody that crossed his path. He was a staunch believer in equal rights for everybody regardless of their background and eagerly looked forward to turning 18 so he could start voting and becoming politically active for the causes that he believed in. Cavan loved being Kaitla’s sidekick and two years ago he got the chance to become a big brother with the arrival of his baby brother Connor.

Cavan was so loving and playful with his siblings and watching them play together brought so much joy to our family. Kaitla and Connor will spend the rest of their lives carrying Cavan with them wherever they go. Cavan was known as “Bubby” to all of his younger cousins and it was by far the title that he was most proud of.

To his cousins, he was a gentle giant who always had time to play, tell stories, and have sleepovers. Cavan had a very special bond with his mom and he was never happier than the times they spent together talking, laughing, and joking while watching TV and movies. They were each other’s best friend and his mom will miss him with every ounce of her heart until she is once again together with her baby boy.

Cavan possessed a dry, quick witted, wicked sense of humor that often left his dad in stitches. Not a day will go by where his dad won’t think about the silliness Cavan was capable of and have his heart swell with pride. Cavan was only here for 17 short years, but he left us with 10 lifetimes full of kindness, love, and stories that will live on in all of our hearts forever.

Cavan felt very strongly about being an organ donor and his last act in this world was giving other families the gift of life. Our family was overjoyed when we found out from Intermountain Donor Services that they were able to find matches for Cavan’s vital organs and that he would be helping out as many as 6 different people. We also weren’t surprised to find out that Cavan’s heart was bigger than normal and that they had to find a special somebody that could handle a heart as big as his.

Cavan is survived by his father and stepmom, Jeramy and Jennie Kilgore of South Ogden; his mother and stepdad, Amanda Kilgore and Troy Buck of Brigham City; siblings, Kaitla and Connor Kilgore of South Ogden; grandparents that loved and adored him so much including: Papa Shawn Kilgore of Roy; Moundy Ursula and Papa Bob Dellamar of Ogden; Tom (Pappy) and Jannette (NayNee) Pappas of South Ogden; and Great-Grandma and Grandpa Mike and Karen Stone of Logandale, Nevada; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins all of whom had a deep, special bond with Cavan. Cavan is also survived by step brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, and uncles on both sides of his family that came into his life later on but added so much more love and happiness to Cavan’s life. Cavan was preceded in death by his Grandma Teresa Morelli and his sweet baby cousin Dawson Jewkes.

Cavan we all love you and we will miss you so much. The struggles you faced are now behind you and even in our sadness we are so happy that you have found your peace. Thank you for being our baby boy.
