Ceila Kay Sebekow, 65, of Reinbeck, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Creekside Nursing Home in Grundy Center, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the French-Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 7, 2018, at the Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Reinbeck.

Burial will follow at the Reinbeck Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family. Ceila was born on July 30, 1952 in Grundy Center, Iowa, to her loving parents Edwin & Edna (Aswegan) Sebekow.

She was raised in Reinbeck and graduated from the Reinbeck High School in the class of 1971. She then went on to obtain her CNA in 1971. Ceila began her career as a CNA at the Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Reinbeck.

She loved and cared for the residents there for over 44 years until her retirement in 2015. Ceila was a life-long member of Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Reinbeck. She was a member of the Grundy County Christian Women’s Association and the DORCAS Society at Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Reinbeck.

Ceila loved and treasured her biannual trips to Branson, Missouri; a tradition she kept for over 20 years. She also enjoyed her trips to Hawaii. Ceila made four trips to the islands and was able to visit each of them at least once.

Ceila treasured her shopping trips with her sister-in-law and best friend, Debbie. They would shop for everything and anything and enjoyed every second together. Ceila was also an avid collector of Snowbabies.

She collected them for over 44 years in which time the collection has grown to over 400. However, Ceila’s true joy in life came from spending time with her family and friends. Ceila is survived by her brothers Curtis Sebekow & Craig (Debbie) Sebekow both of Reinbeck, Iowa; nieces Tara Craft & Susan Craft (Brian Adams); nephews Josh Armstrong & Eric (Stacy) Zuck; several grandnieces and grandnephews; and 1 great-grandniece.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
