Obituary for Cesar Augusto Martins Waterbury, CT Cesar Augusto Martins, 54, died peacefully at his home on June 5, 2018. Cesar was born in Pena, Vila Real, Portugal, on February 24, 1964 a son of Maria Dulce Pires Ribeiro and the late Antonio Augusto da Costa Martins. Cesar has called Waterbury and Naugatuck home for the past 19 years and worked for a construction union.

During his free time, he enjoyed being with his family, watching soccer, and tending to his goats. In addition to his mother, Cesar is survived by his daughters, Marta Martins and Maria Martins; his brother, Enio Martins; his sisters, Otilia Clemente, Augusta Pinto, Clelia DaEira and Maria Rodrigues; his companion, Antonia Feitoza; his uncles and aunts, many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin Street, Waterbury.

Cesar has chosen his resting place to be in Pena, Portugal. There are no calling hours, and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin Street, Waterbury, CT 06706. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Leever Cancer Center, Dr. Bowen and Dr. Chang for the compassionate care given to Cesar for the past four years.
