Chad A. ‘Moose’ Lambert, age 31, Logansport, passed away at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 2019, at McHale Performing Arts Center at Logansport High School. Born March 4, 1987, in Logansport, he was the son of Tim and Joni Selvio Lambert. Chad was a 2005 graduate of Logansport High School and attended Ivy Tech.

He loved his beloved canine companion, Scooby. While growing up, Chad loved mushroom hunting, being with friends, and following his brother’s sporting events. He followed a variety of sports and attended numerous Indiana University basketball, Notre Dame football, and Chicago Cubs baseball games.

To most, Moose was a loyal, faithful, genuine and caring, one-of-a-kind family man. Not having children of his own, with his free-spirited passion and dedication, he formed his own family, either by refereeing or umpiring, but most importantly, coaching youth sports in Logansport. It was his life.

Moose was great at passing a compliment: “You Gotta Believe”, “Never Give Up”, “Play With Heart”, “Let’s Go”. He transported many of his players and was known to pay for a haircut, provide meals, or pay for sports fees for those who were unable. Even coaching on a bucket, most of the time just outside of the coach’s box, Moose was loving every minute not knowing the impact he had on these young players…his kids.

Moose: “Coach ‘em Hard, Hug ‘em After”. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Eric (Charla) Lambert, Cub Run, KY; maternal grandmother, Sue Selvio, Logansport; paternal grandmother, Nancy Lambert, Logansport; paternal grandfather, Jerry Lambert, Kokomo; aunts and uncles, Kelly Tierney, Logansport, Mike and Michelle Lambert, Naperville, IL. , Steve and Michelle Lambert, Plano, TX; nephew, Zach Highbaugh, Cub Run, KY; and several cousins.

Preceding in death were a maternal grandfather, Jim Selvio and uncle, Pat Tierney. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2019, at All Saints Catholic Church, with Fr. Jeff Martin officiating.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Kroeger Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chad Lambert Youth Athletic Fund, c/o Logansport Savings Bank, 723 E. Broadway, Logansport, 46947.
