Chad Edward McRoy was born on April 1, 1978, in Duncan to Larry and Eunice McRoy. He passed away on Thursday, April 26, at the age of 40. A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, May 4, at 1:00 P.M. in the Duncan Municipal Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home. Chad attended Plato Elementary School, Duncan Junior High School, and graduated in 1997 from Duncan High School. While in high school he was a member of the Duncan FFA Chapter and the DHS Golf Team.

He attended Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton studying forestry. He served in the U.S. Navy for 5 years and was employed for 2 years at Halliburton followed by 10 years at Goodyear. Chad loved the outdoors, especially when he was hunting and fishing.

He was a talented craftsman, making traditional hunting bows; however, he could build anything he wanted. He loved his dogs, Nico and Laci, and had lots of cats. Chad had his Grandmother Hare’s big “heart” but most of all, he loved his children.

He is survived by his children, Noelle Irene McRoy and Cash Hawk Allen McRoy; his parents, Larry and Eunice McRoy; and his sisters, Tress McRoy and Jonathan Trumphor of Plano, Texas, and Rachael and Daniel Shanks of Dallas, Texas. Chad was preceded in death by his grandparents, A.W. and Irene Hare, and Chris Tatum; and cousin, DeLisa Hare. The family requests that everyone attending Chad’s service wear their favorite camo outfits.
