BLACKVILLE, SC – In profound sorrow we announce the passing of Mr. Champel J. Jamison, 67 of Blackville, SC, and the husband of Mrs. Kathleen E. Christopher Jamison, who entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 12, 2018 at Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg, SC. “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you.

John 14:1-3 Birth Brother Champel Johnson Jamison was born on April 30, 1950 in Summerville, South Carolina to the late Samuel Jamison and Estell Williams.

Reared by his parents until age 12, Champel relocated to Long Island, New York to live with his sister Jessie and brother-in-law Bobby Barnes. Life Having been introduced to Jesus Christ at an early age, Champel enjoyed attending church and worshipping. Champel was an artist and expressed himself through music.

He penned lyrics and created songs with the hope of distributing them one day. With a love for drawing, Champel created sketches and mailed them to family and dear friends. Love Although Champel loved to eat snacks, he loved Kathleen more than anything!

For 34 glorious years, Champel and Kathy enjoyed their lives together. In 2014, the couple moved to Columbia, South Carolina where they remained for Champel’s twilight years. Farewell Champel answered the final call of the Lord on March 12, 2018 while hospitalized at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.

He was preceded in death by his mother, the late Estell Williams; his father, the late Samuel Jamison; his brothers, the late Herbert Jamison, Daniel Jamison, Robert Jamison and Samuel Jamison, Jr.; and his sister Albertha Jamison King. Champel is survived by his devoted wife Kathy Jamison of Eutawville, South Carolina; his three brothers Superintendent Peter Jamison (Mamie) of Anderson, South Carolina, Benjamin Jamison of Brooklyn, New York, and Joe Louis Jamison (Anita) of Concord, North Carolina; his sister Jessie Barnes (Bobby) of Copiague, New York; a host of nieces and nephews; a multitude of great nieces and great nephews; and countless lives of friends he has touched throughout his 67 years of life.
