Obituary for Donald D. Robertson, Sr. Donald D. “DD” Robertson, Sr., 87, of Summerville, husband of Marian Odell Colson Robertson, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018 at his residence. Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation Monday evening, May 7, 2018, from 5 to 7 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 11 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will be held at 12:30 o’clock at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road, Charleston, SC 29414. Mr. Robertson was born October 25, 1930 in Fingerville, SC, son of the late Aubrey Shelton Robertson and Ada Corine Atkins Robertson. Mr. Robertson served in the US Army during the Korean War as a Combat Engineer.

He was a Mason and Shriner. He loved fishing, square dancing, round dancing, playing guitar and singing. Before retirement he was employed at Westvaco as a Shipping Clerk and Winder Operator for thirty eight years.

He was a member of North Trident Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: Masons, St. Andrews Lodge 367, 945 Wappoo Road, Charleston, SC 29407 or Omar Shriners Temple, 4377 Patriots Point Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464.

Survivors, including his wife Marian, are four sons and one daughter: Donald Robertson, Jr. of Monroe, GA, Kerry Robertson of Summerville, Shawn Robertson of St. Louis, MO, Crystal Tegley (Len) of Cincinnati, OH and Les Robertson of Johns Island, three step children: Samuel D. Thomas (Stephanie) of Excello, MO, Sally Seignious (Chip) of Mt. Pleasant and Mark Thomas of Cottageville; sixteen grandchildren and twenty six great grandchildren and one sister: Joyce Greewell (George) of Goose Creek. He was predeceased by one daughter: Melanie Gayle Robertson and two brothers and one sister.
